Keeping Promises I: *$#@^%!

Posted on 14th April, 2005 at 10:43pm by joel

What’s left to say about the NCAA Tournament? Jack squat.

I promised to round up the Big Dance and I keep my promises. So here we go:

  1. Michigan State lost to UNC after getting completely run out of the building in the second half. That guaranteed that I would not win the basketball pool.
  2. Illinois decided it would be a good idea to shoot as many 3-pointers as they possibly could. This strategy worked fine for a while.
  3. Not so much for the whole game. UNC looked unbeatable for most of the night. Foul trouble for the Illini pretty much guaranteed that Sean May would have the game of his life.
  4. Happy Birthday, Sean! Apparently Mr. May and I share the 4th as a birthday. Lessee… he turned 21 and won the national title and will be in the NBA in a year at the most. I turned 24 and put my web site online in unfinished form. You make the call!
  5. When all was said and done, the Tar Heels won, my bracket looked like a murder scene, and I finished fourth in the pool. Great.

I’m not even going to go through the trouble of scanning my bracket at this point. What’s the use? Besides, it took me 10 days to finally get around to writing this post. Why postpone things any longer? There, done. On to promise part 2…
